Cutting Board TLC:

  • Listen up, it's sponge baths only for me, please! Every wooden cutting board needs to be hand washed with a sponge or rag; absolutely no soaking or dunking in water.

  • And please, no steam rooms! Wooden cutting boards and dishwashers just don't mix; that's for your forks and knives and other kitchen stuff that can handle it.

  • Hey, I get thirsty just like you do! Don’t let me dry out before showing some love. Giving me a regular drink of food-grade mineral oil or beeswax about every three weeks is super important for keeping me healthy and lasting a long time. If you skip the oil, bad things can happen like warping, cracking, and even germs.

  • One more thing – no fatty oils for this guy, I'm watching my figure! Please don't use cooking oils like olive, vegetable, canola, or sesame oil to take care of me. They're too fatty and can go bad, making me smell funny.
